Fun ingredients to add to yogurt

Just wash, cut, and prepare the various ingredients and let them go at it. Here are some ideas for your yogurt parfait…

  • Try different flavors of yogurt so you can layer them into your parfait with other colors.
  • Add some crunch with granola or simply healthy oats. You can also try a variety of crushed nuts.
  • Add fruit like sliced grapes, strawberries, raspberries, kiwi, banana, mandarin slices, and more.
  • Add a layer of yogurt. Top with oats or granola and then some fruit. Repeat the process until you get the right-sized parfait for you.

Your yogurt parfait is what you make of it, and no two are quite the same. Serve up one of these as a snack, lunch accompaniment, or even a dessert after dinner.

What exactly is a parfait?

A parfait is a layered dessert that typically combines creamy elements like yogurt, pudding, or whipped cream with fruits, granola, or cake. It’s served in a tall, clear glass to show off the layers.

You’ll see this often at parties, or during the summer months, as it’s a cool and creamy dessert. Kids love it – and so do adults!

This really depends on who you ask and what they are craving, but in my opinion, the list below has some of the top choices:

  1. Strawberry
    Classic and refreshing — often layered with vanilla yogurt or whipped cream and granola.
  2. Mixed Berry
    A combo of blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries — tart, sweet, and colorful.
  3. Chocolate
    Decadent layers of chocolate pudding, brownie bites, or chocolate chips with whipped cream or mousse.
  4. Peach
    Juicy and light — especially popular in summer. Great with honey yogurt and nuts.
  5. Banana
    Often combined with peanut butter, chocolate, or caramel for a creamy, rich flavor.
  6. Tropical (Mango, Pineapple, Coconut)
    Bright, sweet flavors — sometimes layered with coconut yogurt or chia pudding.
  7. Apple Cinnamon
