Grilled Cheese Charcuterie Board Recipe

The fun thing about making a snack board or appetizer board is that there is room for creativity. Everyone can agree that not everyone loves their grilled cheeses the same way, which is why this recipe is the best.

My boys love to change how they want to eat their grilled cheeses, so this platter gives them options to mix and match! You can even change the soup options easily, too!

If you need a quick movie night dinner option or a fun tailgating recipe to feed the crowd, use this as a simple snack and go-to food! It’s that easy and delicious!

What other ingredients can I add to a grilled cheese sandwich?

The options are endless when it comes to creating the perfect grilled cheese. Changing the type of cheese used is one portion, but there are a lot of additions that can happen as well.

Sliced onions and meat are two of the most common ingredients that can be added, but adding jalapenos and banana peppers brings a fun flair and taste, too.

No matter what you like, give new ingredients and options a try. It’s a fun way to make and eat something new!

Can I make charcuterie boards in advance?

Typically, yes. But for this one, it’s best made and served fresh. This is because the sandwiches and soup have to be served hot/warm, so making it ahead of time defeats that purpose.

You can prep the sandwiches ahead of time to save time, but don’t cook them until right before you’re ready to serve!

The same goes for adding the soup to bowls. You can have them in their serving bowls and then head them once the time is near.

Ingredients

  • 3 loaves of sliced bread
  • 1 package of Yellow American Cheese
  • 1 package of White American Cheese (you can also use Swiss)
  • 1 package of Ham
  • 1 can of Condensed Tomato Soup
  • 1 can of Condensed Beef Vegetable Soup
  • 1 can of Condensed Chicken Noodle Soup
  • Pickles and Rosemary (garnish)

Instructions

  1. Butter each side of sliced bread.
  2. Assemble the sandwiches. You can do a combo of ham and cheese or whatever works best.
  3. Put the sandwich's butter side down in your skillet. I cook on medium heat until each side is cooked golden. If you want to put a lid on the skillet to help melt the cheese faster, you can.
  4. Once the sandwiches are cooked, add each soup to a different bowl and heat.
  5. Put the hot bowls of soup in the center of the serving board and place the hot sandwiches around it.
  6. Garnish with rosemary and pickles and serve.
