How long do homemade spices stay fresh?

Making homemade spices is a great way to ensure that the flavors in your dishes are just how you want them, without any unknown preservatives or additives. But with the benefits of making your spices comes the responsibility of properly storing and using them.

Generally speaking, homemade spices will stay fresh for about six months to a year, depending on the type of spice and the conditions in which it is stored.

Factors such as humidity, sunlight, and temperature can affect the longevity of spices, so it’s essential to keep them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Properly storing your homemade spices can help maintain their freshness for extended periods so you can continue to enjoy their delicious flavors in your cooking.
