Do I need a stand mixer to make these cupcakes?

You’re going to be using the mixer on low speed and medium speed, so it’s good to have it handy. However, if you don’t have a mixer, it’s not a deal-breaker. You can mix by hand, you’ll just have to mix a little bit longer that way.

This Cream Soda Cupcakes Recipe has such a fun and delicious flavor!

  • 1 cup cream soda
  • 1 box white cake mix

For the buttercream frosting:

  • 2 cups cream soda
  • 1 cup butter
  • 3-4 cups powdered icing sugar

  1. Preheat the oven to 374 degrees. Add the cupcake liners to your cupcake pan.
  2. Add two cups of cream soda to a saucepan on high heat. Bring to a bowl and then reduce to medium and let simmer until it's reduced to about 1/2 cup. Pour into a mason jar and then put it in the fridge to cool.
  3. Grab a mixing bowl and beat 1 cup of cream soda and white cake mix for 2 minutes.
  4. Add the batter to the liners, 2/3 full.
  5. Bake for 18-22 minutes.
  6. Let the cupcakes cool.
  7. To make the frosting, put the butter and the icing sugar in a bowl and beat for two minutes.

Add 2 T of the cooled cream soda syrup from the fridge then taste and add more as needed.
  8. Put the frosting in a piping bag with a tip or snip off the corner to squeeze out.
  9. Add the frosting to each cupcake. You can smooth it with a spatula if you'd like.
  10. Add a cut straw to each cupcake.
