My boys love it when I make this fun holiday dessert because it has all their favorite flavors! But you can absolutely switch for different types of cookies and sweets, too!

First, consider the classic chocolate chip cookie, a timeless favorite with a comforting combination of chewy texture and rich chocolate flavor. Its universal appeal ensures it will be a hit amongst a wide audience.

Next, add a touch of elegance with buttery shortbread cookies. Their melt-in-your-mouth texture and subtle sweetness make them perfect pairings with other desserts and accompaniments.

Finally, include the festive macaron, known for its vibrant colors and delicate, airy structure. Available in various flavors such as raspberry, pistachio, and lemon, macarons add color and sophistication to any dessert board.

Together, these three cookies provide a variety of tastes and textures, ensuring every guest finds something to enjoy.

Is a dessert board the same as a charcuterie board?

A dessert board and a charcuterie board are similar in concept but differ in their contents. Both are types of platters designed for sharing, but a charcuterie board traditionally features a selection of meats, cheeses, and accompaniments like nuts, fruits, and spreads.

A dessert board focuses on sweet treats like cookies, chocolates, fruits, and other confections. The idea is to offer a variety of flavors and textures for guests to enjoy, but the main difference lies in the type of food presented.
