As these sugary snacks are relatively simple, many people may be curious about their shelf life. Though the length of time marshmallow pops will last varies depending on how they are stored and prepared.

If kept in an airtight container at room temperature, they usually remain fresh for up to three days.

Can you freeze marshmallows to make them last longer?

An interesting question is whether freezing marshmallows can extend their shelf life.

Freezing may slow down the breakdown of these substances but will not likely make the marshmallow stay fresh significantly longer. Another factor to consider is that the texture of a frozen marshmallow would be significantly compromised when defrosted, robbing it of its signature spongy consistency.

If you decide to freeze marshmallows, freeze and eat them within four months. That will be the best option to enjoy without compromising taste and flavor.
