How To: Chopping a Pork Loin into 10 Meals

Sharing is caring!

I went to Sam’s Club yesterday and got an almost 20 pound Pork Loin.  At only $1.98 per pound, this was a STEAL!  I came home and stuck it in the freezer for an hour, then got busy chopping it. I took the fattest section and cut off enough for 2 Pork Roasts.  Then, started chopping the rest into Pork Chops.  When I got to the end, I didn’t really have enough for more chops, so I started slicing and dicing to make a type of stew meat.

All in all, I ended up with:

  • 1 Bag of stew meat = 1 meal
  • 2 Roasts = 2 meals
  • 22 Pork Chops = 7 meals (3 chops per bag with 1 bag holding 4.  When I cook, I cut each chop into thirds so we have 9 pieces of meat for the 5 of us.)

I am sorry, if I had thought about it, I would have made a video so y’all could see exactly what I was doing.  Maybe next time?

So, the Pork loin cost me $19.04 and I will get 10 meals out of it.

Grand total for meat, per meal = $1.90!
