This is such a fun set of activities, and you could even turn it into a printable Halloween cutting practice sheet just by handing the kiddo a set of scissors and saying “now cut out your Halloween shapes so we can decorate with them”.
I mean, it’s easy to be creative when you have such a versatile set of printables like these!
What is this printable Halloween Tracing and Coloring Book?
This Halloween fine motor eBook is the perfect little set of sheets for preschoolers, kindergartners and even first graders to brush-up on their coloring and tracing skills.
There’s a ton of pages so they can choose what to color and just enjoy the haunting season!
What this printable coloring book includes:
This is such a fun coloring book and tracing practice set, I kind of want to color it. There’s a ton of pages and they each feature a different Halloween character or item.
- Candy Corn
- Witch Hat
- Wizard Hat
But it’s not just coloring, as each page includes some tracing practice with the spooky Halloween theme!
Fun ways to use this printable:
I don’t always sit my kids down with a worksheet and run off to do other things, but let’s face it, sometimes they need something to do while I get prepared for the next lesson. And I want to keep them engaged, not just send them out to play.
So, when we’re in a pickle like this, I love to pull out a set of themed printables for the season or a nearby holiday. That way we’re not only working on some of their skills, but they’re also giving me a much-needed 5 minutes to pull my thoughts together.
This is also perfect for morning work to just get us in the mood to do our home-school curriculum for the day. Even if that morning work starts at 10 am sometimes (no judging, we had a rough morning that day).
Pre Writing Practice
Tracing both lower and uppercase letters, learning to color in the lines, and create the pattern are all strong pre-writing practice activities that will help your child to develop their writing skills.
We all know reading is important, but writing can be equally so and these Halloween printables can be just the themed activities that help develop those skills.
Fine Motor Skills Activities
When little kiddos are playing with activities like these, they’re actually working out their tiny muscles in their hands and fingers, to build fine motor skills that benefit them in more than just writing.
With better developed fine motor muscle control, they’ll be able to control a fork better, hold a pencil for longer, and so much more.
It’s truly a valuable skill that needs to be developed through consciously working out those muscles!
Plain Fun Halloween Activities for Kids
Look, sometimes kids need to have fun to learn.
They don’t learn in a vacuum, they learn by practicing and while we, as adults, may see coloring pages as a “waste of time” there are benefits to coloring that you can’t see.
Not only do the children build skills in pre-writing and in fine motor control, but they also learn patience, how to self-regulate when things don’t go their way (for example if the crayon gets away from them and colors outside the lines), and so many other skills.
So, think of these as Halloween worksheets rather than free printable coloring pages, if that makes you feel better. LOL!
