Fun ways to use this printable:
While this printable is great for reading comprehension, it can also be used for a lot of fun!
Verb Costume Parade
Have each student pick a verb from the worksheet and act it out as if it were a Halloween costume! For example, if their verb is “jump,” they might pretend to be a jumping jack-o’-lantern. Have everyone guess the verb based on the action.
Spooky Story Builder
Challenge the kids to write a short Halloween story using at least 10 verbs from the worksheet.
Encourage them to make it silly or spooky—like a monster brushing his fangs or a witch zooming through the sky!
Verb Sorting Cauldron
Label two cauldrons (real or paper cutouts) “Past” and “Present.” Give the kids verb cards from the worksheet and have them drop each one into the correct cauldron.
You can make it a timed challenge for extra excitement!
