Is this printable dot game board something that the whole family can do?

Absolutely. This is great for rainy days at home, or a long car ride for the kids in the back of the car to play a fun game. I’ve included the simple dot game template so that you can start playing the dots game right away.

The great thing about great games like this is that it’s a great activity for everyone. This is one of the reasons that I love offering free printables – because this gives you the chance to play your own game on your own time! What a great way to bond as a family or to have this free printable dots game on hand for a vacation road trip!

How to Play Dots & Squares Game:

Starting with an empty grid of dots (aka these printable game boards), the game is played by the players taking turns to add a single horizontal or vertical line between two unjoined adjacent dots.

A player who completes the fourth side of a 1×1 box earns one point and takes another turn.

The points are typically recorded by placing in the box an identifying mark of the player, such as an initial.

The game ends when no more lines can be placed. The winner of the game is the player with the most points.

Can you claim the most boxes – winning isn’t about strategy, it is about luck! Lets get started playing connect the dots and find out who is the best strategist!

In current times, children want to stay glued to their electronic devices. However, when they do, they miss out on everything around them and this basically defeats the entire purpose of the road trip. Doesn’t it?
