Homemade Dog Soap Bar Recipe

Yield: 12 soaps

This Homemade Dog Soap Bar Recipe is so simple to make.

  • 6 Ounces Melt and Pour Goat Soap
  • 10 Cocoa Butter Wafers
  • ¼ Cup Oats
  • 7 Drops Lavender Essential Oil

  1. Take and put the oats into the food processor and pulse until they make a chunky texture powder. Set aside.
  2. Next, take the goat soap and cocoa butter wafers and put them into a saucepan. Keep the heat on low and melt slowly until there are no lumps.
  3. Once done, immediately took off the heat and add in your oats mixture. Stir.
  4. Next, add in the essential oil and give it a stir.
  5. Put your dog paw molds on a flat surface and fill each mold. Once done, set aside and allow to dry for 1-2 hours.
  6. Store them in a sealed container until use.

If you don't want to add the essential oil, you don't have to.

Don't add the oatmeal in too early or it's going to sink to the bottom of the soap mold.

If you need to set the pot back on the stove to reheat, do so to continue pouring into the mold.

Hi, I have a question. My dog is allergic to coconut (among other things), can I replace the coconut in your recipe with shea butter? Thanks! Marie

Hi Marie, thank you for your question! I understand that some dogs can have allergies, and it's important to find suitable alternatives. While coconut is a popular ingredient in homemade dog soap bars, you can definitely replace it with shea butter in the recipe. Shea butter is known for its moisturizing properties and can be a great alternative for dogs with coconut allergies. Just make sure to adjust the measurements accordingly and follow proper safety guidelines when making the soap. Wishing you and your four-legged friend a wonderful soap-making experience! Let me know if you have any more questions.
