What can I use in place of maple syrup for baking?

Agave nectar is a great alternative to maple syrup that can be used for baking. It has a subtly sweet flavor with notes of honey and comes in light and dark varieties, giving you versatility when finding the one best suited to your recipe.

It’s also easy to substitute in place of maple syrup with most recipes, as it is sweeter than regular sugar, making slight amounts adjustments all that is needed.

Another handy option for baking is date syrup, which provides an earthy sweetness that pairs well with many flavors like nuts and chocolate.

As with agave, date syrup also works well when substituting maple syrup since it isn’t overly sweet.

Both these alternatives are significantly lower on the glycemic index than regular table sugar and provide helpful minerals like calcium and iron, depending on which type you choose!

How do I freeze leftover muffins?

Leftover muffins can make a great snack on the go or an afternoon treat but can quickly become moldy when left out.

To keep your muffins fresh and delicious for longer, freezing them is the best option. To freeze your leftover muffins, you’ll first want to wait until they’ve cooled to room temperature, then place them in freezer bags designed to lock in moisture properly.

Fill these bags with as many muffins as you’d like to freeze and squeeze out any excess air before storing them in your freezer.

Thawing muffins can be done when ready to eat by simply leaving them on your kitchen counter or defrosting them in the microwave. Enjoy!
