How do you get a whole in the dough?

To make the donut hole you can do a few things. A bottle cap works great to push down and pull the dough out or you can easily cut out a small circle with a knife.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup of Granulated white sugar
  • 1/4 cup of Brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 T room temp butter
  • 2 Egg yolks
  • 2 1/4 cups of All-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp of Baking powder
  • 1 tsp of Pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 3/4 cups of Sour cream
  • 1/2 cup extra of granulated white sugar
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

Instructions

Start by mixing 1/2 cup of the white sugar and the butter in a bowl. It should be crumbly. Add in the egg yolks and stir.

Next add the flour, salt, and baking powder to a different bowl. Pour in 1/3 of the flour mixture, 1/4 cup of the brown sugar, and 1/2 cup of the sour cream into the egg mixture and stir. Mix in the rest of the flour and sour cream and put in the fridge.

Put 1 tsp of pumpkin spice, 2 1/2 tsp of white sugar, and 1 1/2 tsp of cinnamon in a bowl.

Preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees.

Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface until it's about 3/4" thick. Cut out six large circles and then cut wholes in the middle, too.

Put 1/2 of the melted butter on both sides of the doughnuts.

Put 1/2 of them in the air fryer and cook for 8 minutes. Take them out and brush with melted butter and dip in the pumpkin spice and sugar mixture asap. Repeat for all the doughnuts.
