How do you cook a whole spaghetti squash?
There are actually quite a few different ways that you can cook up a spaghetti squash. You can roast it in the oven, where you’d have it roasting face down so that the liquid inside keeps the spaghetti squash meat moist and tender. Simply cooking it on medium heat in the oven on a baking sheet is all that some of these recipes call for!
Another way that you can cook spaghetti squash is by using your Instant Pot or your slow cooker, too. I’ve even witnessed a squash being grilled up on the BBQ grill as well.
As long as you’re getting it hot enough, there are so many different ways that you can cook spaghetti squash up.

Can dogs eat spaghetti squash?
You bet! Spaghetti squash is healthy for your dog to eat and will actually give them nutrients, too! And if your dog is anything like my dog, they’re going to be begging for a bite no matter what so share away!
Your pup eating squash can help with their kidneys and reduce their chances for heart failure as well.
How do I freeze spaghetti squash?
This can be the perfect way to save some of this comfort food for later! You’ll need to have a sharp knife, and cut the cooked spaghetti squash away from the skin of the squash. You can then add it to a freezer bag or airtight container, and store it in the fridge for later.
Does spaghetti squash really taste like regular spaghetti?
It doesn’t – but it’s a great alternative for a low carb dish. You can whip up a keto spaghetti squash casserole and add meat sauce for flavor, or even add a little bit of olive oil and salt. It’s a great go-to method when you want an easy recipe without the guilt.
I like to add a light drizzle of oil with some Italian seasoning for a really good flavor and taste. Depending on the size of your squash, it can be a super simple way to feed the kids – even picky eaters! One of my favorite things about making new foods like this is that it’s a great way to introduce a healthy dinner to the family.
