I think that it’s so great having a recipe that you don’t even have to turn on your oven for. This cool cabbage slaw is a great way to fill bellies fast with shredded cabbage! Talk about a healthy side dish option!

Cool Cabbage Slaw

If you can buy pre shredded angel hair coleslaw, that’s my favorite type to use! I also like to add some red cabbage to my slaw recipe also. There are so many options that you can thinly slice and add!

My boys love when I make this Dutch slaw because it’s just a light and refreshing side dish. The more that they crave it, the more that I’ll make it because it’s the perfect way to make cole slaw over and over again.

What pairs well with cabbage salad?

I think that pulled pork or any type of pork pairs well with cabbage! I’ve been eating this combination together for years and it’s always delicious.

Cabbage Slaw

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes

Make this side dish in minutes using your food processor and save it for later!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups shredded cabbage
  • ¼ cup Sun-Maid Raisins I use half raisins and half dried cranberries-so pretty!
  • ½ cup shredded carrots
  • ¼ cup sliced green onions
  • 1 tablespoon Sunflower Seed Kernels optional

Dressing

  • ½ cup fat free plain yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon fat free mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijonnaise mustard
  • ¼ teaspoon dill weed optional
  • Salt and pepper
  • Sweetener to taste I add 1 tablespoon honey

Instructions

  1. COMBINE all salad ingredients. Set aside.
  2. COMBINE all dressing ingredients and BLEND well.
  3. POUR dressing over salad.
  4. ADD salt, pepper, and sweetener to taste.
  5. TOSS and refrigerate, covered, until ready to serve alongside BBQ, fried chicken, seafood, or whatever else you may be having.
