If left to their own devices, I think my kids might spend the entire summer watching our satellite TV. My husband spends his summer waiting for Direct TV nfl Sunday ticket. That’s why I always try to make a list of activities they might enjoy and make sure we all get out of the house during the summer.
My favorite summer activity is camping. When I was growing up, I always went camping with my family, and now that I am a parent I want my kids to have the same happy memories that I cherish. We usually go camping at the beach. My husband loves to go body surfing with the kids. They ride on him like a boogie board. It is so cute to watch.
In the evenings, we all sit around the campfire and tell stories or sing songs. We roast marshmallows and make s ‘mores. Being surrounded by nature and silence gives me a peaceful feeling. When we come home, I always regret washing the smokey smell out of my jacket. Whenever I smell it, I think of summers spent camping on the beach. That is the smell of nostalgia.
