When you’re ready to help your child learn how to read, flashcards are always a great learning activity that can help accomplish those reading goals!

If your child is getting ready to start learning to read, they’re really going to love using flashcards in their learning.

It teaches them quick thinking and the ability to process words as they’re flashed in front of their eyes.

These free Thanksgiving worksheets can be used in many ways from matching to simply flipping through and reading.

What is the educational benefit of this printable?

Flashcard learning isn’t a new concept but it is one that works. Kids like to be challenged, especially when they’re learning new things. Using flashcards to help with reading and letter identification is an effective way to help them identify a word and then learn how to say it and ready it out loud each time it’s viewed.

What it includes:

This printable includes flashcards that have various Thanksgiving words on them. All that has to be done is print them out, cut them apart, and then start going over them with the kids! They’ll be reading the words off the flashcards in no time at all!

Fun ways to use this printable:

There isn’t a lot of ways to vary up the use of these free flashcards but you can branch-off them with some other fun learning ideas!

Draw the pictures of the words

Once your child knows what the word says, don’t have them say it out loud. Instead, have them draw the picture on a piece of paper to show you instead.

Color the drawn picture

After they draw it, have them color in the pictures as well. They can use this to work on coloring skills at the same time.

Have them put the pictures together to create a story

Since they’ll be drawing multiple Thanksgiving pictures, have them create an entire themed story to share with the family! This is a great way for them to think critically while being creative at the same time!
