Peanut Butter Cup Rice Crispy Treats

This past weekend, I experimented with a few new rice crispy treat tastes.  Of course, I had to try a peanut butter and chocolate variation. I love the combination of peanut butter and chocolate, and they worked perfectly with the crispy rice cereal bars.

These Peanut Butter Cup Rice Krispie Treats are easy to make and so tasty! They have all of the flavor of a peanut butter cup in everyone’s favorite easy treat; a rice krispie square! You can have dessert or an afternoon snack ready in a matter of moments with this easy simple recipe!

Seriously, I am absolutely hooked on rice crispy treats. My newest obsession is creating new rice crispy flavor varieties. They are yummy, totally easy, and quick to whip up a big batch. (And, as a mom to five kids, I also appreciate that they are not messy!)

Ready for a delightful treat? If you love peanut butter, you are going to go crazy for this treat that tastes just like Reeses Cups! Get out your saucepan and cereal…and enjoy!

Rice Krispie treats are one of my secret weapons as a busy mom. I love that you can make them basic or add frills like peanut butter, candy or anything you desire! Rice Krispie treats aren’t messy to make or eat, making them ideal for adding to lunchboxes or serving as an after-school snack.

If you are a serious peanut butter fan, feel free to add a few extra spoonfuls to the mix. If you can’t get enough chocolate; melt a little extra and add it in. This recipe is bound to become a family favorite, so make the adjustments you like and watch your family gobble them up!

Peanut Butter Cup Rice Crispy Treats

Yield: 12 Pieces

These Peanut Butter Cup Rice Krispie Treats are easy to make and so tasty! They have all of the flavor of a peanut butter cup in everyone's favorite easy treat; a rice krispie square!

Ingredients

  • 3 T Butter
  • 32 Regular Marshmallows (or 3 cups of mini marshmallows)
  • 2-4 T Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 3 Cups Crispy Rice Cereal
  • 4 oz. Melting Chocolate

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add marshmallows and melt, stirring constantly
  3. Once fully melted and combined, remove from the heat and add peanut butter. Stir until combined.
  4. Add rice cereal and stir gently until combined.
  5. Press rice crispy treats into a lightly buttered 9x13 baking dish (waxed paper can help keep your hands from getting too sticky)
  6. Melt Chocolate (I use the microwave, just be careful not to burn it) and pour over the top.
  7. Let cool for at least 30 minutes before cutting into bars.

Notes
