But back to this too-delicious looking green hot cocoa recipe. You’re not going to go wrong with this suspiciously Ginch-like drink.
Confession: I made this while I was making my Grinch Bookstack for holiday decor. The kids were watching The Grinch That Stole Christmas–it just made sense. So…you might notice this is a little influenced by his grincheyness.
If you’re ready to make this awesome winter treat–er, drink, let’s break out the chocolate.
How to Make Mint Hot Chocolate
There’s not a lot to making your own homemade green hot chocolate recipe. Really, the trick is that while you might THINK you have to work with your chocolate in a medium saucepan over medium heat, in fact, you’re just dumping your white chocolate (or semi sweet chocolate, whatever), vanilla extract, mint flavor, a few drops of green food coloring and all the other ingredients into the slow cooker.
Then you produce this wildly rich and creamy holiday season beverage that just screams to be topped with whipped cream that bears almost no resemblance to a simple mixture of milk, vanilla, food coloring and all that jazz.
Seriously, it’s like having a secret that no one knows you were able to make a huge cake in the microwave or something. I mean…just brilliant.
So, to make this white hot chocolate, or grinch hot chocolate, whatever you want to call it, just toss off all your ingredients into the slow cooker, then make it look really “big deal” by serving with some fresh mint leaves and pouring it in a saucepan before you “remove it from heat” and ladle it up for everyone. I’ll just die laughing.
