Tailgating Deviled Eggs
Tailgating Deviled Eggs are a bit spicy compared to the traditional deviled eggs recipes. By adding a cute garnish, these deviled eggs look like footballs! It’s the perfect appetizer for the Ultimate Tailgating Party!!
I know many people think of deviled eggs around Easter time. It makes sense. You’ve boiled a ton of eggs for your Easter Egg Hunt — what else are you going to do with all of these eggs??!! Maybe my family is a little different, but at any gathering, there are always deviled eggs. I’m getting together with my family this weekend to watch football on Sunday night. The Bears have the night game, so we’ll be eating tailgating recipes all day.
I volunteered to bring deviled eggs, but I wanted to get these deviled eggs in the football game day spirit. Instead of making the everyday deviled eggs recipe, I used some hot sauce to spice things up. I really love spicy food on game day! I added some chives on top of the eggs to make them look like little footballs. Who said game day food can’t be cute??!! 🙂
Deviled Eggs make a great tailgating appetizer. All of the ingredients are staples in my home. If there is a time when you’re struggling on what to make, bring these tailgating deviled eggs! Deviled eggs are easy to transport and bite sized. Just watch these tailgating deviled eggs disappear at your next game day party.

Ingredients
- 12 eggs
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 2 tbsp mayo
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Hot sauce to taste
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- Chives for garnish
Instructions
Place eggs in a saucepan with a lid, pour in water to cover, bring to a boil, and remove from the heat. Cover and let stand for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove eggs from hot water and let cool. Peel the eggs.
Cut each egg in half lengthwise, remove the yolks, and place the yolks in a bowl with the mustard, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, hot pepper sauce, and salt and pepper. Mash the yolks, and stir the mixture until smooth and thoroughly combined.
Fill each egg half with the deviled yolk mixture, using a spoon, piping bag, or a sturdy plastic bag with a corner cut off. To make football topping, lay 1 chive piece vertically over filling. Lay 3 chives pieces horizontally. Chill 20 minutes before serving.
