Christmas Coloring Activities for Preschool
The Christmas season fills our homes with magical moments and festive cheer. Twinkling lights sparkle everywhere while the scent of cookies fills the air. These Christmas Coloring Activities for Preschool bring holiday joy to your little one’s fingertips!
Coloring is a beautiful way for kids to join the festive fun. It helps them develop essential skills while celebrating the season. I love watching little faces light up happy as they bring Christmas characters to life with their favorite colors.
I put my heart into creating these printables, which are perfect for keeping tiny hands busy during the exciting countdown to Christmas.
What is the learning benefit of this printable?
Your child will gain so much from these fun coloring pages!
First, they’ll build those necessary fine motor skills as they grip their crayons and color. Their little hand muscles will get stronger with every picture they complete. This skill is what they need for writing later!
I love how coloring helps with focus and concentration, too! When kids work on staying inside the lines, they’re practicing essential hand-eye coordination.
The holiday pictures help them learn about Christmas symbols and traditions in a fun way. As you talk about each character together, they’ll build their vocabulary.
Best of all, these pages let kids express their creativity. There’s no right or wrong way to color these pictures! Each child can make them uniquely their own. Sometimes, my preschoolers even make purple snowmen or blue Santas, and I let them be!

Fun ways to use this printable:
These aren’t your ordinary coloring pages. They are gateways to holiday magic and learning!
I’ve discovered many fun ways to use them with my preschoolers. Let me share our favorite activities with you!
Storytelling Stars
Your child’s colored pictures can become stars of their Christmas stories! I love asking my kids questions about their colored characters, such as, “Where is Santa going with his bag of toys?” “What games does the snowman like to play?” It’s lovely to hear their imaginative answers.
Every time we do this, the stories get more creative. Sometimes, we even act out the stories together. It’s a fantastic way to develop speaking skills and creativity. Plus, it makes coloring time even more special!
Winter Wonder Gallery
Turn your home into an art gallery! After coloring, help your little one display their masterpieces. We love creating a unique art wall just for Christmas pictures! You can even invite family members to view the “exhibition.”
My kids get so proud showing off their artwork. It builds confidence and makes them feel like real artists. We sometimes make special tickets for our gallery opening. It’s such a fun way to celebrate their creativity!
Holiday Hide and Seek
This activity is one of our absolute favorites! Cut out the colored characters carefully. Then, take turns hiding them around the house.
Your child will have a blast finding Santa behind the books or spotting the reindeer under the table. These activities add movement and excitement.
