Strawberry Soda – You can use any carbonated strawberry beverage that you prefer, but we like Fanta.
Blue Cream Soda – Frostie Blue Cream Soda is such a beautiful blue color.
Red, white, and blue sugar sprinkles – You can use anything you want, but the sanding sugar has the best coloring for Cat in the Hat.

How do I encourage young readers?
There are so many ways that you can make reading fun! Making a fun snack is a great idea, and might be the only reason that they want to read in the beginning! You can then add in some great Dr. Seuss books and other good choices and let their curiosity for reading grow.
If you want kids to read the Grinch, introduce a Grinch smoothie recipe or Grinch rice krispies treats! You can also make fish rice crispy treats to pair with 1 Fish, 2 Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. You can make a blue drink to make it look like fishbowl water!
If you make the main ingredient a part of the story, it’s a fun way to make the Dr. Seuss stories come to life! A healthy way to encourage reading a good book would be to have fruit and marshmallows on a bamboo skewer for Lorax marshmallow pops.

Cat in the Hat Mocktail Recipe
Equipment
Ingredients
- 1 Cup(s) strawberry soda
- 1 Cup(s) blue cream soda
- 5 Cup(s) ice divided
- whip cream
- red white and blue candy sprinkles
Instructions
- Into a blender add 2 1/2 cups of ice and 1 cup of strawberry soda. Secure the lid and pulse until you have slush ice. Spoon strawberry slush into shooter glasses half-way.
Place the shooters in the freezer to keep them from melting.
Rinse out the blender and repeat the process with the blue cream soda and ice.
Remove the shooter glasses from the freezer and spoon in the blue cream soda slush on top of the red slush. Leave a 1/2 of space at the top of the glass.
Return the glass to the freezer for 10 minutes.
Remove from the freezer and top with whip cream and red, white, and blue candy sprinkles.
Serve.
