As part of our ocean animals unit study, we are reading.  Reading lots and LOTS of books. Learning all about jellyfish is not only educational, but it’s also quite fun as well. The kids love reading all about what they eat, how they live, and how they’re able to be underwater for so long!

From stories to facts to coloring – these books will help you teach your kids everything there is to know about the beautiful Jellyfish! We really enjoyed finding out all about jellyfish and other under the sea animals in our Ocean Animals Unit Study!

What is the purpose of jellyfish?

They’re really a great source of food for turtles and other animals in the ocean. And because they can sting, they can be protectors to smaller fish as well in the water by stinging the bigger fish and keeping them away.

What is the lifespan of a jellyfish?

You’ll find throughout the readings that most jellyfish only live a span of a few months. Some might make it years, but it’s highly unlikely. It really depends on the species as well.

How often should my child read?
