Miller Manor Day 36: Over a Month of Renovations!
It has been 26 days since I did a Miller Manor post – how did that happen? Where has the time gone? Anyway, lots of things have happened but we still aren’t ready to move in. Honestly, I am afraid we are NOT going to make it by Christmas. There is still just so much to do 🙁
It seems like every time we pull off an old baseboard we find some rot or water damage in a wall! It is frustrating and feels like it is a massive money pit. I told them the other day that I am tiring of them ripping up my house! LOL! On the plus side, although these pictures don’t show it, the upstairs is REALLY coming along!! Seriously, we have painters there right now! I did a new video yesterday but need to get it edited and uploaded so you can see everything that has changed compared to the first video. 🙂
In the picture above, you can see the upstairs hall way before (left) and what it looked like a couple days ago! It has windows, actually has doors but they were removed for orange peel on the walls, and Kilz! Cool, right!?
I am so ready for them to give me an actual date because I want to get internet, phone, cable, real power, etc all set up. I also want to know if we will be in by Christmas because at this point we have no tree in our house and no place to put one. We are living in a world of boxes and I am SICK of it. But, what else can we do?
On a good note, I just might be doing flooring this weekend upstairs!!
QUESTION: Is it tacky to register for a house warming party?

Kelli, I heard about your new home on the Brilliant Business Moms Podcast! I have followed both you and Crystal through your youtube videos #learntobloghangouts. I am watching you upsize, while I downsize. I had a unique opportunity during my move to listen 1.5 hours to soccer practice and 1.5 hours back home for about a month before we moved and listened to every single episode. I homeschool, so I am not able to get on live on Tuesdays, but did see the recent with Holly Homer, who I learned about through Social Media Marketing Podcast. Thank you for all your teaching and willingness to give so much valuable information. I have been on the side of social selling and now leaping into blogging 2015. I am taking your lead and post a series on our renovations of a 1957 home on 6 acres! Thanks so much again, Merry Christmas Rhonda
We are doing just our kitchen and bathroom. Both still not finished. I feel your pain. My bedroom is full of boxes. Your house looks amazing! And when it’s done you’ll be forever glad you got through it. I know I will. Happy holidays! (anyway)
I want to see kitchen pics!!!
I love following along with your project Kelli!
You guys are awesome!
Thank you for stopping by the Thoughtful Spot Weekly Blog Hop this week. We hope to see you drop by our neck of the woods next week!
Thanks Jill! I am planning to take more pictures today – the house has come a VERY long way since this post 🙂
What a fun project! Pinned and tweeted. We appreciate you being a part of our party, and I hope to see you on Monday at 7 pm. We love partying with you!
Happy Saturday! Lou Lou Girls
Renovations are no fun… at least not as far as your temporary living conditions go. The windows are beautiful. Decorate for Christmas wherever you are at, even if it has to be on a very small scale. It will be a Christmas your family will always remember. Thank you for sharing at the #HomeMatters Linky Party. Pinned and shared. 🙂

I think we are going to put a 4 foot tree on the pool table this year – I am just sad because we always have Christmas breakfast at our house and I don’t see how it can happen this year. 🙁
Thank you for linking up to Party Time and we hope to see you again next week!
This looks like it is going to be a fabulous house! Love the big windows!
Thanks Heidi! We are getting closer and closer! A ton had changed since this update, I need to get some pictures taken 🙂
Just finished your series on the Miller Manor. Enjoyed it. How’s it going now?
As for your question . . . probably not, but it might be tacky to throw one for yourself. 😉
LOL! No, we wouldn’t throw one for ourselves 🙂
I love the windows in the upper hallway! So much nice light! 🙂
Thanks! One day, we will put a tree in that window 🙂
