What is the learning benefit of this John 13:34 Bible Verse Coloring Page?

Kids learn so much when they color this John 13:34 page! They grow in their spirituality while building practical skills, too.

As they color children embracing each other, they learn one of Jesus’s most important lessons while improving hand control and coordination. Coloring strengthens the small muscles in their hands that they’ll need for writing and other school tasks.

These coloring pages also create opportunities to talk about showing love every day. While kids focus on coloring (which helps them learn to concentrate), you can talk about ways to show love to brothers, sisters, friends, or even people they don’t know well.

The combination of coloring and talking helps children understand that love isn’t just a feeling—it shows up in our actions!

Soon, your little ones will know John 13:34 by heart and look for ways to live it out with others – all while getting better at focusing!

Love Language Discovery

Use coloring time to learn how we show and feel love! As your child colors, talk about the five love languages in a child-friendly way: hugs, kind words, presents, serving, and quality time.

Ask your child, “How do you feel loved most?” “Do you feel loved when someone hugs you, talks kindly to you, or plays with you?”

After coloring, make a simple chart with each family member’s favorite way to feel loved. Develop specific ways your child can show love to each member. This reminds children that “loving one another” looks different for everyone!

Kindness Challenge Cards

After your kids color several copies of these pages, cut out the pictures and attach them to card stock.

On the back of each card, list specific acts of love, such as “Share a toy with your brother or sister,” “Help Mom or Dad without needing to be asked,” or “Write a nice note to a friend.”

Put these cards in a special box or jar, and have your child pick one out in the morning. Their assignment for the day is to do that kind of act. At dinnertime, talk about whether or not they met their kind challenge and how it made everyone feel!

Friendship Craft Project

Use this activity as the central part of a friendship craft. After coloring the page, help your child cut out paper hearts in different colors. Write the name of someone they love on each heart—family, friends, neighbors, or even pets!

Put these hearts around the colored page and glue everything to a bigger poster board. This will serve as a visual reminder of all the people they can show love to.

Hang it in their bedroom as a daily reminder of Jesus’s command. When they make new friends, add new hearts!

Coloring pages featuring three children hugging, surrounded by leaves and hearts, beautifully emphasize John 13:34 with a quote about love. Art supplies like scissors and gears add a creative touch to these heartfelt John 13:34 coloring pages.
