This simple letter recognition activity is great for students learning all about the letter D.

It is perfect for letter of the week activities, morning work, and homework. This printable can also be used in a small group setting or as a review for a test.

There are many learning benefits to this printable. This printable is great for students who are struggling with letter recognition or need extra practice with the letter D.

What it includes:

These printable activities include activities for kids that focus on the letter D, with the theme of Donald Duck. They’ll get to circle all the letter D’s on the page so that they can identify and gain confidence.

They could also practice their fine motor skills by cutting out Donald Duck himself. That they can play with and put on display.

These activities are perfect for kids who are learning the letter D, or for those who just love Donald Duck!

Fun ways to use this printable:

You can have the kids learn shapes by putting a circle around the capital ‘D’ and a square around the Lower Case ‘d’ but there are so many fun ways to think outside the box in learning as well!

They could use different colors: for example, green around the “big D” and blue around the “little d”.  You could also grab a set of Do A Dot Art Markers (affiliate link) so they can just dab over the right letters!  

Make a duck craft

Once they can identify the letter D, have them create a duck craft that they can hang up and show off! Maybe one of their first D words that they’ll be able to spell is duck!

You can have them decorate the letter D however they’d like! Glue on gems, feathers, or even turn it into a dinosaur! The options are endless.

Practice writing the letter

Once they can identify the letter D, have them work on writing it! You can use tracing paper or just have them write on construction paper as well. Write out words that start with the letter D and have them trace!

“Dog”, “dinner”, and “duck” are all great options. You can also make a dot-to-dot of the letter D! This is a great way to work on fine motor skills.

Lay a tracing page on top

Just put a tracing page on top of the printable and have the kids trace it! This is a great way for them to work on their writing skills and it really helps them focus in on what they need to trace.

If you don’t have a tracing page, you can easily find one online or make your own.

However you decide to use these sheets, they are a simple way to reinforce alphabet recognition!
