Back to School Resources (NYC)
My littles are soon to start their Nursery and Pre-Kindergarten school year so in celebration of their journey, I have rounded up some great Back to School resources for those who are Nursery School, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten ready!
Lacing Cards by eeBoo
The insect inventory in this charming set of lacing cards includes a pink butterfly, buzzing honeybee, spotted ladybug, darting dragonfly and a green grasshopper at rest. Little fingers will love lacing around each creature, making the pictures pop. As a former teacher, I know how important fine motor skills are and this will give any child a jump-start.
Alphabet & Numbers Puzzle Pairs by eeBoo
Emergent readers can match letters with words and dots to numbers. The directions in this game offer six ways to play. Upper and lower case letters are matched to an object beginning with that letter. Numeral pieces fit into corresponding pieces with dots. I love how I can use this with my 4 year old and 2 year old, but in different ways!

First Day of School Puzzle by eeBoo
The beautiful animal illustrations by Kevin Hawkes are sure to inspire your child’s imagination with their dreamy colors. I can’t wait to give this to my daughter the night before her first day of school.
Ready, Set, School! by ALEX Brands
This kit has it all! Bring the fun of getting ready for preschool home with Ready, Set, School! There are dozens of fun pre-school activities in one box. Learn shapes with stickers, a wipe away ABC and 123 books, a Tie My Shoe lacing card with instructions, scissors and stackable finger crayons. A wonderful way to engage little ones preparing for pre-school. For older children, it’s fun to continue the pre-school learning fun at home.
Match Stacks by Tree Hopper Toys
Pre-schoolers will love matching and stacking the shapes and vibrant colors while exploring and enriching their vocabulary. Each of these sets of comes with 16 wooden discs, nicely packaged in a reusable tube. I use them to: strengthen vocabulary, exercise verbal skills, enhance hand-eye coordination and concentration, and boost memory. I also LOVE that these are made from American Hardwood with non-toxic, water-based ink in a wind powered workshop right here in the USA!
And here is a little something to help any parent navigate the dreaded school supply list. TeacherLists.com is a FREE service for Back–to–School shopping. As the largest school supply lists database in the country, parents can find their child’s list on TeacherLists.com by searching by zip code. Parents never have to worry about carrying a paper list (or forgetting that list at home), because they can search for and read the list on their smartphone as they shop! The website also features Back–to–School coupons from TeacherLists.com’s sponsors (Kleenex, Mead, Five Star, Elmer’s, BIC, Hefty, Westcott and Wet Ones).
Happy Shopping!
