Skip Counting Scavenger Hunt

Turn the lesson into an adventure! Hide the skip counting cards around your classroom, home, or even outside. As kids find each card, they bring it back and work together to arrange the numbers in order. For example, if they’re practicing counting by 5s, they’ll line up the cards: 5, 10, 15, 20, and so on.

This activity keeps them moving, helps burn off energy, and strengthens sequencing skills while making math feel like a game.

Monster Math Match

Create an extra set of “monster cards” that show multiplication problems matching the skip-counting pattern. For instance, if a skip counting card says “25,” the monster card might read “5 × 5.” Kids then have to find the matching pairs.

This adds a layer of challenge by helping children see how skip counting connects directly to multiplication, building stronger math foundations in a playful, Halloween-themed way.

Spooky Number Towers

Bring math to life with a building challenge! Each time a child draws a skip counting card, they stack blocks, cups, or even Lego pieces to match the number shown. So, if they draw “30” while skip counting by 10s, they build a tower of 30 blocks.

As the game goes on, the towers get taller and more exciting to compare. This activity combines counting practice with hands-on learning, encouraging focus, problem-solving, and fine motor development.
