Thomas is in second grade and is HATING math.   He has to work on addition facts and greater than/less than/equal to.  He can never remember which way to turn his little alligator. So, I created these 2nd grade math worksheets to help him with greater than, less than, equal to math problems.

2nd grade math worksheet

The five 2nd grade math worksheets in the pdf gradually get just a tad tougher.  Relating it to the fact that he wants to eat MORE, not LESS really helped him to understand which way to turn his “mouth” and hopefully, it will help you and your child as well!

2nd Grade Math Worksheets:  Greater Than, Less Than, Equal To

Hungry Man (mine) – 5 worksheets that get a bit more difficult.  Great for one week of 2nd grade math practice!

Alligator Numbers – Super Teacher Worksheets has quite a few.  If you are a member, the options are more, but there are enough freebies that it isn’t necessary.

Math-Aids has some more difficult greater than & less than worksheets that use integers and fractions if your child is more advanced than mine.

I thought these looked like fun so I printed them out and my 5yo has whipped through them, he’s going to show Daddy tonight. It really made sense to him with ‘food’ involved!

This is a great idea!! I personally use the alligator wants to eat the larger number (just because that is how I was taught in school as a child). Thank you for linking up this week to the Thoughtful Spot Weekly Blog Hop 🙂
