Over 120 Books About The Ocean (for Kids)

Sharing is caring!

For the past 13 weeks, I have been bringing you lists of books to help your kids learn about specific sea animals as part of our Ocean Animals Unit Study.  We have lists of ocean themed books and even some books for the beach.  Taking up two-thirds of our world, the ocean should be taught!  Kids need to not only understand this underwater world, but they need to respect and care for the animals within it.  So, you should plan to read some of them together, but also provide oceanic books for kids to read on their own.

Over 120 Ocean Books for Kids

Reinforce what they read:

By incorporating hands-on activities like sensory bins and playdough while reading ocean books to children, you can create a multi-dimensional learning experience.

These activities allow children to explore and interact with the concepts being introduced in the books.

For example, they can use ocean playdough to sculpt their favorite sea creatures or create an underwater scene in the sensory bin.

This tactile engagement enhances their understanding of the subject matter and fosters creativity and imagination.

As they manipulate the materials, children can also improve their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

By combining reading with hands-on activities, you can make the learning process more enjoyable and effective for young readers.

I love anything about water though I am afraid of it's depths. Oh well, the reason I love them is because our business is water-based. :P Anyway, I think it would be nice to teach and make my daughter interested in them too even if she doesn't know anything about her grandpa's business yet. She likes to swim, that's the start and she wanted to visit an aquarium again. I think these books will her appreciate the ocean and all the living things in it! :D
