This post was written in 2015 and updated in 2021 – my Whirlpool machines are still going strong and still helping me to stay completely aught up on laundry!!
We have 5 people in our immediate family and all five are active, very active. From sports to dance to yard work, we stay dirty and so do our clothes. We also have 5 inside dogs, 1 outside dog, and now an exchange student (who also does dance).
Needless to say, the only thing worse than the grocery bill is the amount of dirty laundry we go through any given day! About a week ago, I discovered my life changing laundry hack and have been in a state of euphoria ever since!

For 10 years, we have NEVER been caught up on the laundry – never. There simply weren’t enough hours in the day to get everything clean at the same time. Until, this simple thing changed my life! After just one week, I have empty laundry baskets all over my house. I have found articles of clothing that I completely forgot about AND I have realized that it is time for a yard sale!
How often do we use our large appliances? What would our lives be like without them? Yet, we look to spend the lowest amount possible on them and then complain when they don’t do what we want! Seriously, stepping away from the lowest price on the showroom floor and instead looking for the items that can make my life easier is a game changer!
This Whirlpool Washer is 5.2-5.3 cubic feet of pure awesome! Yes, it changes! It depends on if you have the agitator in or not!
Technically, it has a jumbo capacity and can hold about 28 pounds of laundry at once, but I put TWO of the round baskets full of laundry and it did an amazing job with plenty of room for even more.
I have washed all the bedding from my King-sized bed with zero problems! I can wash all of the bedding from both beds on Tank’s bunk bed AT ONCE!
The first time I used it, I wasn’t real good with an HE (as I didn’t have that before) and we had a couple clumps of powder detergent that made me have to run a rinse cycle, but I very quickly learned that for the mixed and normal load option on the Intuitive Touch Control Panel, I only needed to fill my little laundry scoop up to the lowest line for the perfect clean with no clumps of detergent.
However, with a week of begging kids to find me more laundry to wash in my beautiful new machine, I have found that Liquid Tide for HE Washers does a much better job in the machine than my normal detergent!
You can’t almost double the size and efficiency of your washing machine without getting a game-changing dryer to go with it. This Whirlpool Electric Steam Dryer is 7.4 cubic feet of great drying power, but that isn’t what makes me happy.
Hold up, let me give you a bit of background. When my brother was 3 or 4, he had no idea what an iron was because he had never seen one. 😀
When I got married, my husband ironed his clothes because my idea of ironing didn’t work for him. Then, he realized that my method worked and he virtually stopped ironing, too. LOL! HA!
I hang clothes in the bathroom with me to let the steam from my bath release the wrinkles. This also means that my bathroom is super hot and steamy, causing my makeup to run and my hair to frizz!
Oh man, Whirlpool has solved my dilemma with their Wrinkle Shield™ Plus option. I no longer have to worry about running the bath super hot and my makeup melting away because I am trying to release wrinkles from clothes.
I am in love with my new washer and dryer and will be bringing you even more information about them over the next few months.

I am so thankful I have a washer and dryer. I don't know what I would do without it! Sounds like you got a good one!

These machines look wonderful. Honestly one of the complaints I would have, is that the washer seems to smell every once and a while when using it. I know they say with the front load washers this happens a lot. I just wish it wouldn't have to be like that.

Love machines like this with a big drum! The only thing better would be if it did the sock folding for me ;)

Right!? Thankfully, since finally getting caught up with laundry, socks aren't really an issue :-)

I love the bathroom idea of addressing the wrinkle issue. I will definitely try that.
