Thanksgiving Math Activities for Preschoolers
These Thanksgiving math activities for preschoolers are five printable pages of turkeys, pies and pumpkins that sneak in counting, patterns and comparing numbers. To a four-year-old it looks like coloring with extra steps. Nobody has to know.
Print them for the week of Thanksgiving break, or tuck them into the rest of your November preschool theme.

The free download is at the bottom of the post. Above it: what each page covers, three ways to stretch the pack into a full morning, and more Thanksgiving learning when they finish.

What’s in the Thanksgiving Math Pack
The PDF is 7 pages: a cover, 5 activity pages, and a terms of use page. One skill per page.
- Thanksgiving Pattern: cut out the pictures at the bottom and glue them into the empty squares to finish each pattern.
- Big or Small? check the big object, cross out the small one.
- Let’s Match! draw a line from each group of objects to the right number.
- Let’s Count! count the pictures and write the number in the box.
- Comparing Numbers: compare two groups and write greater than, less than or equal in the middle.

Why Thanksgiving Math Works for Preschoolers
Preschoolers will count anything if it has a turkey on it. The holiday pictures make the abstract stuff, like more and fewer, a lot easier to see, and the cut-and-glue pattern page sneaks in some fine motor practice too.
Each page is short. Five minutes, one skill, done. That is about the attention span you get the week of Thanksgiving anyway.
Fun Ways to Use This Printable
Create a Thanksgiving Counting Hunt
Cut out a few pictures and hide them around the room. Kids find them, sort them into groups, count each group, and tell you which pile has more. It counts as math and it gets them out of their chairs.
Build Your Own Thanksgiving Patterns
Give them a tray of cut-out pieces and let them make their own AB, AAB or ABC patterns, then explain the pattern out loud. Talking it through is where the sequencing skills actually stick.
Roll and Solve Thanksgiving Game
Add a die. Whatever they roll, they count out that many turkeys, build a matching set, or find that number on the matching page. Same pages, more rounds, and nobody asks for a new worksheet.
