GIVEAWAY: Swiffer and Febreze #cleaning kit

i 110806112137 100696 thumb GIVEAWAY: Swiffer and Febreze #cleaning kit

As you know, I have three lovely but admittedly, messy and ornery boys. I’ve noticed that the older they get, the worse their stench is progressively becoming. Their rooms tend to smell a little stale, as do any room they spend a lot of time in with their shoes off. Because I refuse to accept this as my lot in life, I am committed to fighting the good fight of freshness or at least pleasant smells. One of my biggest weapons in this ongoing battle is Febreze. I use it spray down all of the fabrics in their room and throughout the house. It does a really good job of canceling out the boys’ odor.

I don’t know if you’ve seen the Febreze commercials where someone sprays down an extremely dirty room with Febreze, blindfold people and ask them to guess what the room looks like. Because the room smells so good, courtesy of it being doused with Febreze, most people assume that the room is nice and neat. This commercial pretty much speaks to the state of my home many days. . If you could only smell the rooms and not see them, you would swear that they are spotless. With three boys, age 5 (Tank), 9 (Zack) and 11 (Tripp), it can be difficult to keep things spotless but at least everything smells good, well after I go over it with Febreze.

One room in my house which requires constant battling is the kitchen. It seems that no matter how often and how well I clean it, it ends up looking like I didn’t just a few short hours later. With three boys who love to munch and prepare food and snacks on their own, the floor gets pretty messy. Sweeping and mopping is seemingly constant.

Dust is something that every person who desires a clean home must tackle. Dust is not only unattractive to look at but it can cause or worsen allergies and breathing disorders such as asthma. Traditional dust busters and cloths aren’t as effective as I would like them to be, so I use Swiffer Dusters. I’ve found that these are great at attracting and removing dust. They are designed with some sort of light adhesive which helps to trap dust.

I find that my Swiffer duster is able to get rid of dust even in the toughest to reach spots, which makes the ‘oh so fun’ job of dusting, at least tolerable because the outcome ends up being worth all of the work.

Keeping a house clean can be tough enough, having to do so with three rambunctious and messy boys running round, makes it even tougher. However, it’s manageable with the right products and tools. Febreze and a Swiffer Duster are atop of my list of must-have cleaning supplies.

Now, here is YOUR chance to try them out.  P & G is letting me offer a neat little giveaway!

Giveaway: EaseUS® Partition Master 9.1 Professional Edition with WinPE bootable disk ($39.99 Value)

item 274x300 Giveaway: EaseUS® Partition Master 9.1 Professional Edition with WinPE bootable disk ($39.99 Value)I have been using various programs to manage hard drives since starting with basic DOS utilities in the 1980s, and I can say that many of them were hard to use, unintuitive, and lacked the information you needed to fully understand what you needed to do to a hard drive, and what you were about to do.  And backup software? Sometimes a problem too.

EaseUS’s Partition Master Professional Edition 9 (“PMP”) makes rearranging your hard drive, upgrading to a larger drive, cloning a hard drive, or even maintaining your hard drive by defragmenting files or verifying partitions a breeze.  The installer is a no brainer, and PMP presents a clean, intuitive interface. PMP offers a nice balance for the newer or casual user who just needs to move their files to a new larger hard drive, along with the more advanced disk management services that a more advanced user would need like creating a Linux bootable disk, converting the file system, or creating Windows Preinstallation Environment disks. This allows the creation of boot disks that can be used in hardware disaster recovery, when you need to restore drive backups to new hard drives.
Besides the advanced features, one of the best benefits is EaseUS’s copious, well-written documentation.  Besides the well written built in Help guide, EaseUS has web based flash tutorials that show, visually, most of the routine hard drive operations you might need to do like merging two or more partitions into one large one, resizing a partition to give “Drive F” more space, creating a backup partition, or cloning a drive.  In addition, there are more PDF guides on their website.Partition Master Pro 9 is more than competent, clean and easy to use, and provides the whole range of services you need to keep your hard drives well organized and maintained.  For even more functionality, you can purchase their Todo Backup Workstation bundle offering an end-to-end solution for backup and recovery, either at work or in a corporate IT environment, or at home.

As Partition Magic alternative, EaseUS Partition Master Professional Edition is an ALL-IN-ONE partition solution and disk management utility. It allows you to extend partition, especially for system drive, settle low disk space problem, manage disk space easily on MBR and GUID partition table (GPT) disk under 32 bit and 64 bit Windows 2000/XP/Vista/Windows 7(SP1 included). The most popular hard disk management functions are brought together with powerful data protection including: Partition ManagerDisk & Partition Copy Wizard and Partition Recovery Wizard. Moreover, you can create bootable CD/DVD in case of system boot failure.

Review: God’s Guest List by Debbie Macomber

Review: God’s Guest List by Debbie Macomber

I was sent this book to review. What I got from this book was that God puts people in our lives for a reason. You never know who God has sent to us and for what reason. We should always keep an open mind and look for the lesson in any encounter. Even if you don’t like somebody or somebody is mean to you, there still may a lesson to be learned.

What the website has to say:

Description

Who is on God’s “guest list” for your life . . . and why? The answers may surprise you.Through touching true stories and inspiring insight Debbie Macomber takes readers on a journey to discover the shaping influence others have on us and the power we have to shape and influence those whose paths cross ours. Each of us have “influencers” that have affected our lives—some from a distance, some through word or deed, some through example, be it good or bad. Often we don’t even recognize the deep impact others have had and how God has used them to shape us into who we are. By pausing to recognize these influences we begin to grasp how God’s guest list had a purpose far beyond what we imagined. We begin to see the seeds of influence that grew into our personal values and character. In some people God invites into our lives, we see only what appears to be painful or negative influence. We bear the scars of disappointment, hurt, betrayal, and pain. Here Macomber redirects our attention, opening our eyes to how those experiences prompted strength, resilience, resolve, decisions, and choices about how we would change and who we would become. In other instances, God has surprised us with just the people at just the right time to support, teach, lead, or love us, but perhaps we haven’t quite recognized God’s timing and work through these “guests.”But perhaps the greatest treasure this book holds is the power to grasp our own power to influence others, and even to anticipate what lives we have yet to touch. In the tradition of How to Win Friends and Influence People, Macomber casts a vision to seize every opportunity to be a positive and faithful influence on others. With this realization comes the willingness and anticipation to live with the door of our lives wide open to greet each new life God brings across the threshold.God’s Guest List is filled with true stories and rich insight that will forever change how you see the people in your life.

From the back of the book:
Have you ever been pleasantly surprised by relationships you would never have chosen for yourself but with people who ended up having a positive impact on your life? After making a list of people I wanted to meet, people I admired for one reason or another, I’ve been inspired, encouraged, and deeply touched by others not on my list. Looking back, I realize they may have been placed in my path by Gog for a heavenly purpose. I encourage you to open your hearts to God’s Guest List for you, to the very special people God intends for you to meet, people who will enrich your life in unexpected ways. —-Debbie Macomber

Feature Friday: Life With Levi

This week, I am a lot sad!  Capture Feature Friday: Life With LeviThe people in Alabama have faced some really hard times lately.  According to this news report, over 150 tornadoes swept through Alabama and Mississippi on Wednesday!  Many other states were also affected, and the East Coast is catching it now. The death toll in Alabama alone has surpassed 300 with many people still unaccounted for.  Please keep everyone that was affected and is in the path of this devastation in your thoughts and Prayers!  Although this is north of me, I have many dear friends in that area and some of my friends here have family there that they have yet to hear from.

Ok, sorry for the tear jerker on Jen’s post. wlEmoticon smile3 Feature Friday: Life With Levi But, y’all know I always start off with something personal.   Feature Friday: Life With LeviOk, moving on to Feature Friday so some of you should already know Jen since she is one of my contributors here at 3 Boys and a Dog!  Today we get to know her and her own blog, Life With Levi, just a little better!

Tell me a bit about you and yours:

I’m a very busy new mama. I work full time as a business analyst, attend college part time at night, and spend the rest of my time with my wonderful family. My son Levi is 8 months old and the absolute light of my life. I’ve been married to my husband Jason for almost 4 years. We also have 3 dogs/kids: Bailey, Kahlua, and JD.

Do you have more than one blog?

Nope, just the one. But I do help review items for 3 Boys and a Dog.

How long have you been blogging?

About a year and a half.

Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging as an outlet for my fears of being pregnant immediately after a miscarriage. I didn’t really like talking to my friends or family about it, and the anonymity of online journaling really appealed to me. Throughout my pregnancy, I started to realize that I had a voice, and of course I have a ton of opinions, so my blog became more of a platform to share articles than just an online journal.

Who does your blog appeal to?

Mostly other parents, especially ones who can relate to a busy schedule. I talk about a lot of natural parenting topics – breastfeeding, cloth diapers, baby-led weaning, etc…

What direction do you see your blog going in the future?

I think it will evolve as Levi gets older. I’ll still talk about the challenges of raising a child and balancing the rest of my life, but eventually I WILL graduate and Levi will (sniff) start growing up.

What is the biggest challenge you have faced so far with your blog?

Posting content regularly!! It’s easy to get distracted or decide I want to write in the middle of the night. I’d like my posting to be a little more predictable, just so readers know when they can expect to see new stuff up.

What do you love about blogging?

I love interacting with people. Especially when they have their own stories to share.

What do you despise about blogging?

Top blog contests. What’s the point? You drive traffic to someone else’s site and beg your followers for votes. I don’t like it, so I don’t participate. If someone wants to give me an award, cool, but it should be for what I already do, not for soliciting people to vote for me.

What types of products do you review?

Products related to natural parenting or infant products.

What was your favorite product to review?

My PumpEase. It was actually my second one. I adore Wendy, the owner of the company, and the product is FANTASTIC.

What advice do you have for those wanting to get into this?

It’s a lot of work. Know your limits, and don’t accept every offer that comes your way.

How do you find time to blog?

I have no idea! It’s all about multi-tasking. My netbook comes everywhere with me. Waiting for a friend, sneaking some internet time while pumping, breaks during class, you name it.

Besides at Life With Levi and 3 Boys and a Dog, you can also find Jen at:

I host the Breastfeeding Blog Hop, a weekly linky open every Thursday & Friday. Each week we link up posts related to a different breastfeeding topic.

Leave them some comment love and help their numbers by following them.  If you would like to see your blog featured, please drop me an email (Kelli@3boysandadog.com) with “I want to be featured on Fridays” in the subject line.  I will shoot the interview form your direction!

Menu Plan Monday: A Day in the Life

Oh my goodness, this is going to be another crazy, busy week for me.  I swear, one day I want a normal week where I don’t feel like I am a chicken running around with my head cut off.  I just get so overwhelmed with the amount of stuff I have to do.  Anyway, enough griping… not like I have time for it – LOL!

On to my menu plan:

Monday:  Fried Pork Chops, Potato Salad, Corn

Tuesday: Meatballs, French Fries, Green Beans

Wednesday: Teriyaki Chicken, Cheesy Mashed Potatoes

Thursday: Scalloped Potatoes and Hamburger

Friday: Leftovers or out to eat.
