So, You Want to Guest Post… Now What?

Sharing is caring!

Thanks so much for responding to my call for guest posters or requesting permission to guest post on my site!  This page will help you in crafting your post for my site – and hopefully for all future guest posts around the web.

#1 – You should have received an Author login to my site.  Click on over and on the left find “users” click on your name and fill out your profile completely!  Be sure to put your G+ profile so that you can get Google Authorship on your post!

#2 – Download the Blog Post Template to help you lay out your blog post to my specifications.

#3 – If we have an agreed upon date of when your post should go live, be sure to get it ready in a draft 2-3 days before that so I can make any necessary changes or tell you to make them.

#4 – Double & triple check for spelling errors and grammatical errors.

#5 – Link within & link without!!  Link to 2-3 other posts or pages within my site using relevant keywords not “click here”  you are also welcome to link to other posts or pages on your site!  Links to my site should open in the same window and links to your site (or other sites) should open in a different window.  Within HTML that code should look like:

Link within my site:

<p><a href=”https://3boysandadog.com”>Link within my site</a>:</p>

Link to other sites besides 3 Boys and a Dog:

<p><a href=”http://notmysite.com” target=”_blank”>Link to other sites besides 3 Boys and a Dog</a>:</p>

#6 – All links to your site should be “dofollow” – you will need to edit the HTML to reflect that… only to your site not to mine.  That HTML should look like:

DoFollow HTML:

<p><a href=”http://notmysite.com” rel=”dofollow” target=”_blank”>Link to YOUR Site</a>:</p>

NOFollow HTML:

<p><a href=”http://notoursites.com” rel=”nofollow” target=”_blank”>Link to a site that isn’t mine or yours</a></p>

#7 – Drop me an email when you are ready for me to check it out and schedule it or ask for corrections. 🙂

Thanks so much! I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
