GreenPan Valencia Pro Twilight Review: The Set I Reach for Each Evening

Sharing is caring!

The GreenPan Valencia Pro Twilight set is gorgeous. I have used many of the pots and tools. They are a go-to each evening.

This review focuses on the navy Twilight 19-piece set. Below are the included pieces, the care details worth checking, and my thoughts on choosing cookware by the job you need it to do.

What Is the GreenPan Valencia Pro Twilight Set?

GreenPan lists three frypans, two saucepans, a sauté pan, two stockpots, an everyday pan, a grill pan, a griddle, and eight lids. Those lids count toward the 19 pieces. It is a broad cookware set, rather than nineteen separate pots and pans.

Before choosing a set this size, lay out what you already use. Count the pots you reach for during a normal dinner, then think about the meals that need something different. A full set makes more sense when its pieces fill real jobs than when half of them would spend the year waiting in the back of a cupboard.

For example, think through a meal with a main dish and two sides. Which pieces would be on the stove together? Then think about a bigger meal. That little exercise tells you more about whether the assortment fits than simply comparing the piece count on two boxes.

The Features Worth Checking Before You Buy

  • Hard-anodized aluminum bodies with a diamond-infused ceramic nonstick coating.
  • Compatibility with all stovetops, including induction.
  • Pans rated oven safe to 600°F; lids to 425°F.
  • Dishwasher safe, although GreenPan recommends hand washing.
  • Metal utensil safe, although silicone tools are recommended.

Those are the listing’s specifications, not five separate performance tests I have run. In particular, an oven rating is a limit to follow, not a reason to turn up the heat for every meal. Keep the lid limit separate from the pan limit when planning a recipe that moves into the oven.

The care guidance deserves a place in the buying decision, too. If you want cookware that fits one particular cleanup routine, read the recommendation before ordering. Being allowed to put something in a dishwasher and choosing the maker’s preferred care method are different decisions.

What I Think About Twilight So Far

The color was an easy part of my answer: Twilight is gorgeous. But my other comment was about use. Many of these pots and tools have become go-to choices each evening. That is the part I would want to hear as a reader deciding whether a pretty set belongs in a working kitchen.

It really only requires a bit of a wipe. Cleaning is nothing, even if you sit down after cooking.

Choosing by the Job, Rather Than the Brand Name

To be honest, GreenPan and Pampered Chef seem like the same quality to me. The shapes and sizes are different, so I tend to choose a different brand depending on what I need the pot or pan for. That is my experience, rather than a claim that every item in both ranges is identical.

Start with the job you need done. A pot for a larger batch and a pan for a smaller part of dinner are separate needs. Compare the actual piece you are considering with what your recipes call for. You do not have to choose a lifelong team before choosing a pan.

If your current cookware already covers most of your meals, write down what is missing before browsing. If you are replacing a collection, make a second list of the pieces you would miss immediately. That keeps a coordinated set from becoming a purchase based only on the color, even when the color is this pretty.

Who Should Consider the Twilight Set?

Consider this set if you want a coordinated assortment and can give its different pieces useful work. Check your cupboard and stovetop space before ordering. A set should fit the way dinner happens in your house, including where everything goes when dinner is over.

If you need only one replacement pan, compare that need with the full assortment first. There is no prize for bringing home more cookware than you want to store. The useful choice is the one you can picture reaching for, washing, and putting away. Before ordering, compare the cookware you plan to keep with the pieces in the set. Check where the lids will go, whether a pan with its handle will fit your shelf, and which pieces you need to reach without moving everything else. If you regularly cook several parts of dinner at once, also think through which pans you would use together. The piece you need for the main dish should not leave you without the right pot for the side. A quick kitchen check is more useful than guessing from a photo.

I certainly use the stockpot the most. I could argue the 8 inch pan gets the most use, though, between omelets, quesadillas and grilled cheese sandwiches.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Twilight set work on an induction stove?

Yes, GreenPan lists this set as induction compatible. Check that you are looking at the Valencia Pro Twilight set when comparing products.

Are all nineteen pieces pots and pans?

No, eight lids are included in the nineteen-piece count. Compare the actual assortment with what you need rather than treating the number as nineteen cooking vessels.

Do I need the full set if I only want to replace one pan?

You may not need a full set for a single replacement. List the pieces you would use before deciding whether the assortment is a good fit for your kitchen.

Take a Closer Look at Twilight

My starting verdict is simple: gorgeous cookware that I have been reaching for each evening. Match the assortment to your own meals and space, and read the care guidance before deciding. A good fit for your kitchen should make sense after the pretty first impression.
