3 Boys and a Dog works with select brands through paid campaigns, sponsored content, affiliate partnerships, product placements, and other customized promotions. This policy explains how I evaluate partnership opportunities and protect the trust I have built with my audience.

Although some collaborations may include hands-on product coverage, I am not actively seeking traditional product-only reviews. Providing a complimentary product does not replace an agreed creative or placement fee.

Paid Partnership Policy

Brand content requires time for research, product evaluation, writing, photography or creative development, editing, publishing, promotion, and campaign management. Therefore, 3 Boys and a Dog generally accepts product coverage only as part of a paid partnership.

The product itself does not serve as payment unless I specifically agree to a product-only arrangement in writing. Fees depend on the campaign scope, requested deliverables, usage rights, timeline, and promotional channels.

Payment does not guarantee a positive opinion. Instead, it compensates me for the work required to create and distribute the agreed content.

Products and Brands I Consider

The strongest partnerships offer something useful to busy women and families. Relevant categories may include:

  • Family and household products
  • Cooking tools, food products, and meal solutions
  • Children’s activities and educational resources
  • Seasonal products, gifts, and worthwhile deals
  • Travel destinations and family experiences
  • Services that save families time, money, or effort

I consider every opportunity based on audience fit, editorial relevance, timing, product availability, and the overall value of the campaign. As a result, I may decline a partnership even when a product falls within one of these categories.

Product Evaluation and Editorial Control

When a campaign requires personal experience with a product, I need enough time to use or evaluate it appropriately before creating the content. The necessary evaluation period will depend on the product and the agreed campaign scope.

All opinions, observations, and recommendations must reflect my genuine experience. I will not make claims that I cannot support, hide relevant concerns, or present a product as something it is not.

Brands may provide product details, approved links, campaign requirements, and factual information. However, I retain control over my wording, opinions, and final editorial presentation.

Brand Review Before Publication

If we agree to a prepublication review, the brand may check names, links, technical details, and other objective facts. This review does not include rewriting my opinion, requiring a positive endorsement, or removing truthful information simply because it is unfavorable.

Any approval process, revision limits, and deadlines must appear in the campaign agreement before work begins.

Disclosure and Transparency

3 Boys and a Dog clearly discloses material relationships with brands. These relationships may include payment, complimentary products, hosted experiences, affiliate commissions, discounts, or another form of compensation.

Sponsored content and endorsements will include disclosures appropriate to the platform and campaign. Compensation does not change the commitment to honest, accurate, and useful content.

Product Claims

Brands must provide accurate, supportable information about their products and services. I will not publish unverified medical, health, financial, performance, environmental, or safety claims.

The sponsoring brand remains responsible for substantiating the claims and materials it supplies for a campaign.

Shipping and Unsolicited Products

Please do not send a product without receiving confirmation first. An unsolicited package does not create an obligation to test, review, mention, photograph, return, or otherwise feature its contents.

After we confirm a collaboration, I will provide the correct shipping address. The brand must cover the cost of sending the product.

Products generally will not be returned unless we agree to return arrangements in advance. For an approved return, the brand must provide prepaid shipping, appropriate insurance, and any necessary packaging or handling instructions.

Affiliate and Editorial Product Mentions

Some content on 3 Boys and a Dog contains affiliate links. If a reader purchases through one of these links, I may earn a commission at no additional cost to the reader.

I may also discover and mention products independently without a direct brand partnership. In those cases, the brand does not control the inclusion, description, placement, or continued availability of the content.

Content Ownership and Usage Rights

Unless a written agreement states otherwise, 3 Boys and a Dog retains ownership of the articles, photographs, graphics, videos, social posts, email copy, and other original campaign materials I create.

Brands may share a direct link to published content and may repost through a platform’s built-in sharing tools. Republishing the full content, using creative assets in advertisements, adding the content to retailer listings, or using it in other marketing materials requires separate written permission and may require an additional licensing fee.

Campaign Timing

A campaign timeline begins after we agree on the scope, compensation, deliverables, and deadlines. When applicable, I must also receive the product and all required campaign information before work can begin.

Rush campaigns depend on availability and may require an additional fee.
