mashed potatoes
Instructions
Turn to stove to medium heat. Add oil to a cast-iron skillet.
Once the pan is hot, add the onion and cook for two minutes until lightly golden and soft. Remove from the skillet and put into a small bowl.
Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. This will take about 8 minutes or so.
Once it's fully cooked, add the onions and minced garlic. Cook for two minutes then add the crushed tomatoes and drained beans. Stir well.
Add the seasonings and stir. Cook the mixture as you're preparing the mashed potatoes.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
Let the mashed potatoes cool, then put into a piping bag with a star trip.
Take the cast iron pan off the stove, pipe the mashed potatoes on top of the beef mixture, covering the entire top with little star dollops.
Put the pan in the oven for 15-20 minutes. Bake until the potatoes are golden.
