Kid Friendly Things to do in Jackson, Mississippi

Jackson MS isn’t at the top of most people’s must visit family travel destination spots, but it is one of the most kid friendly places our family has been.

1. Bike Ride or Walk on Natchez Trace Parkway  2. Play at the amazing Mississippi Children’s Museum 3. Lick a  treat from Deep South Pops to cool off.

4. Play on one of the fantastic playgrounds. The ones at Old Trace Park, Winner’s Circle Park and Liberty Park are our favorites. 5. Explore the Mississippi Petrified Forest 6. Mississippi Museum of Natural Science

7. Explore a part of history at the Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum 8. Walk the trails at the Clinton Nature Center and don’t miss the Outdoor Natural Playground.

9. Learn about art with your kiddos at the Free Look and Learn with Hoot event every month at the Mississippi Museum of Art.

10. Watch a Mississippi Braves baseball game (don’t miss the fun kids area and when they invite the kids to run the bases at the end of each game)

11. Visit the Jackson Zoo. Make sure you save time for the awesome splash pad and fun train ride. 12. Visit the Lemuria Bookstore and check out their well stocked kids area.

Plan for sunshine, beautiful blue skies and sweet people everywhere you go. Nowhere we have lived have I felt more okay bringing my kids along than Mississippi. And make sure to drink a glass of sweet tea for me!
