Ingredients
For the cookies:

all-purpose flour
sifted

For the topping:

Instructions
To make the cookies:
Mix the flour and salt together in a bowl and set aside.
Grab another bowl and mix the sugar and egg together. Then add in the butter and vanilla and mix.
Take the flour and add slowly into the mixed wet ingredients. It should start to resemble cookie dough.
Once that happens, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and put it in the fridge for 2 hours, at least.
After the dough is done being chilled, take it out of the fridge.
Use a baking sheet covered in parchment paper and preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Start to roll the cookies into 1-inch spheres and put them on the cookie sheet, 2 inches apart.
Take the back of a teaspoon and make a dent in each cookie.
Put in the oven and bake for 7 minutes.
Take out and use the teaspoon back again to press a deeper thumbprint in the cookie. Be careful, they're going to be hot.
Put the cookies back into the oven and continue to bake for another 4-5 minutes.
Once done, remove and let cool.
For the topping:
Using a small saucepan, add in the sugar, salt, heavy cream, and the water and mix them all well.
Boil it on high and then lower it to medium heat. Stir until thick which would be about 2 minutes or so.
Take off from heat source and mix in vanilla.
Scoop out some of the mixture and put it into the middle of each cookie. Place a pecan on top.
Let it sit for 3-4 minutes to cool.
