Instructions
Start by mixing your cake mix, butter, eggs, and water with a hand mixer on high until well blended.
Pour mixture into cupcake tins, and bake according to box instructions.
Allow the cupcakes to cool completely.
Separate your icing into two equal portions.
Color one portion of icing yellow and the other grey.
Fill piping bag with grey or yellow icing and place large round tip on the end.
Frost half of the cupcakes by starting on the side and working your way in and up with icing.
On one side of the cupcake, pipe then release pressure and pull away to make the eye-pointy-bits above the owl eyes.
Clean your piping bag and tip, then fill piping bag with the other color icing and place the large round tip on the end (again).
Frost the remaining half of the cupcakes by starting on the side and working your way inward and upward with the icing.
On one side of the cupcake, pipe then release pressure and pull away to make the eye-pointy-bits above the owl eyes.
Working with one Starburst candy at a time, microwave the candy for 10 seconds.
With your fingers, pinch the Starburst candy in half and roll it into a slight cone shape with a rounded shape.
Repeat with all of the Starburst candies to make 12 owl beaks.
Place two of the giant candy eyeballs on the side of the cupcake where the eye-pointy-bits are.
Place a beak between and below the two eyes then serve and enjoy!
