Fels Naptha recommended

borax

Instructions
Slice the bar of soap into three sections. Chop up one-third of the bar using a food processor or knife.
Place one quart of hot water into a deep kettle and boil. Reduce heat and stir in the soap flakes. Mix until dissolved.
Add the remaining water to the kettle and stir.
Add the washing soda carefully and stir until dissolved.
Add the Borax and stir carefully until well dissolved.
Remove from heat and add the glycerin. Stir well.
Use a funnel to pour the detergent into an empty laundry detergent container or several smaller recyclable plastic bottles.
Cool before capping.
Store bottles in the laundry room.
Use approximately 1/3 cup of laundry soap per load.
Notes
Wear protective clothing and gloves to avoid skin irritation.
Ensure each ingredient is added carefully to prevent splashing.
