*1-pound of unscented clear melt & pour suspension soap
3Teaspoon(s)*Polysorbate 80
Ivory mica colorant
Brown mica colorant
White mica colorant
**10-20 drops of coffee scented essential oil
2Tablespoon(s)ground coffee
Instructions
Divide the clear melt & pour soap between three microwave safe measuring cups. Melt the first one in 30 second increments and stir. Do this until it is completely melted.
Add 1/2 teaspoon of the scented oil and one teaspoon of the Polysortabe 80 to the measuring cup.
Add 1/2 teaspoon of the white mica colorant to each measuring cup. Stir until mixed.
Add an additional 1/4-1/2 teaspoon and stir to make it a darker color.
To layer the soap, spray each mold cavity with rubbing alcohol.
Fill the cavity 1/3 full of soap. This should be to where just the holes are covered.
Spray with alcohol and then let the mixture harden completely before moving to start the next layer.
Repeat the above layering steps, but this time, use the brown mica.
Spray the soap from the first layer with the rubbing alcohol. Fill each cavity 1/2 full of the brown soap. You might have to reheat.
Spray with alcohol and let it harden entirely before moving on to the next layer.
Repeat the above steps for layering, but this time use the ivory mica.
Fill each cavity full of the ivory and spray with alcohol.
Let the soaps harden completely. This will take at least an hour.
Gently remove the soaps from the mold and enjoy!
Notes
You can also use regular melt-and-pour soap. The coffee will settle to the bottom of the mold instead of floating in the layers. If you want to use this soap on children, please verify the safe amount with a trusted source.
