- 2 ½ Cup(s) of all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon pink Himalayan salt or sea salt
- 1 egg
- 1 stick of softened butter
- ½ stick of buttered shortening
- ½ Cup(s) sugar
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- Valentine’s Day sprinkles you can also use non-pareils, sanding sugar or other types of sprinkles or toppings
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Add parchment paper to a baking sheet.
- Mix the flour, salt, and baking powder in a bowl. Use a whisk to combine and then set aside.
- Add the shortening, butter, extracts, and sugar in a different mixing bowl. Use a mixer to combine well.
- Slowly combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients. Place the bowl in the fridge to firm up the dough.
- Use a small cookie scoop and put 12 cookie dough balls that you've rolled in sprinkles onto the baking sheet. Space them evenly.
- Put the baking sheet in the oven for 10-18 minutes. Once the bottoms turn golden brown, they need to be removed.
- Take the baked cookies out of the oven and cool them on a wire rack.
