Yonanas Frozen Treat Maker is actually a really awesome kitchen equipment to have in the house. This is such a wonderful addition to our home because one of my weaknesses is ice cream. Now I can have the ice cold sensation inside my mouth without all the added calories that ice cream gives me. Not to mention, I am no longer throwing away fruits that don’t get eaten anymore.
Yonanas is made in such a way that it’s very user friendly. It’s so easy to use that my kids can make their own after school snack. My kids already loved bananas, but now they eagerly await them turning into a Cheetah Spotted banana so that they can use the Yonanas machine.
When I first saw this machine, I honestly thought it was only for bananas. Then when I got it and saw that I could add other fruits and CHOCOLATE, I was in LOVE. I personally love that it came with a recipe book filled with ideas on how I could use it to make my new favorite treat. We kept it simple for this blog review, but let me tell you there are so many wonderful ways I can use this machine that I won’t have to suffer through a sweet tooth anymore. Eating my 6-8 servings of fruits has never been easier. There are just so many options with Yonanas machine.
Watch this quick video to see just how easy it is to use. Your new frozen food for kids has never been easier to make. Your kids will BEG you to buy fruit just so that they can enjoy these easy treats. I literally honestly felt guilty that I didn’t buy more than two things of strawberries and two stacks of bananas after we tried our creation.
Doesn’t this video make you want to run out and buy one?
We made Strawberry Yonanas with chocolate chips.
The ingredients included 2 frozen ripe bananas, ¾ cup of strawberries and ½ chocolate chips. We rotated inserting them into the Yonanas machine. It turned out just like the picture below.
It literally has the nice cold texture of a bit harder than yogurt, but not quite ice cream. Soft ice cream to me is actually softer than this combination turned out to be. It was PERFECT for the summer day here in SC.
The downside to this machine is the fruit does have to be frozen. They recommend that you freeze it for 24 hours. Then you have to take it out to thaw it for roughly 10 minutes depending on the temperature of your home. It’s not ideal for those times when you really have a sweet tooth craving and you want something sweet. UNLESS you buy the frozen fruits from your grocery store and keep yourself stocked with it like they did in the video. Can you guess what is now on my grocery list?? (Dole, are you listening? We need coupons for free frozen fruits for our kids now that we have gotten hooked on this machine.) Well, that scratched out that con didn’t it?
I can’t say…
- It’s hard to put together or to clean because it isn’t.
- Takes forever to be ready to use because it just takes plugging it in and turning the on switch.
- Makes a mess all over the kitchen because the kids left the top off because you need the top to smash the fruit.
- You have to use bananas in every recipe (like I originally thought) because you can use ANY fruit and other goodies too.
- That it is too loud when it’s running because it’s no worse than a mixer or a blender.
- It’s expensive because you can get it for as cheap as $59.99, which when you consider the cost of a ½ gallon of ice cream at $6.00 that’s really a bargain. (Not to mention the bargain you’re getting by saving inches on your waist line.)
Now that I’ve pretty much ruled out many of the things I thought were wrong with this machine or would be wrong with it prior to getting it, I get to tell you that you have the distinct pleasure of a chance to win your very own Yonanas machine. I dare you to find something you don’t like about it. Because I really did try really hard to come up with a negative so that you would know I’m giving it a fair review!
