SOY MEAT BURGER RECIPE

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup TVP textured vegetable protein
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 1/4 cup vegetable broth
  • 1 – 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 cloves of garlic pressed
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • dash salt and pepper to taste
  • oil for frying optional

Instructions

  1. Combine the TVP with the vegetable broth in a large bowl and let sit for 15 minutes. Once the TVP has soaked up the liquid, add the remaining ingredients and stir well. Mold into patties and fry in vegetable oil until golden brown. It’s a good idea to use a light tasting oil for veggie burgers, such as canola or sunflower because olive oil can mask the other flavors.
