Unicorn Bark Recipe

Sharing is caring!

I never knew it was possible for a dessert to be full of magic and rainbows.  Then there was this Unicorn Bark Recipe that changed my mind and showed me the sparkles.

When I make this pretty dessert it just seems to gleam with magical goodness.  Unicorns can make nearly everyone happy and bring out the good in the world.  Why would you NOT want to make this and make the world a better place?

Unicorn parties are more of a trend now than ever before.  I see so many unicorn-themed birthday parties.  What if you took the theme and had a Unicorn Baby Shower

I know, what a fantastic idea, right?

Unicorns and babies are both magical and make people happy.  Why not combine the two for your shower and this is the perfect dessert to help bring the theme together.  The pretty colors swirl together to make the perfect dessert for your baby shower.

Specialty Ingredients:

This recipe is so simple that it really only includes two ingredients: sprinkles and candy melts (purple, light blue, white, and pink candy melts).  That’s it, not one other thing.  I have the candy melts that I used linked below, but I wanted to include some fun sprinkles for you, too.

Sprinkles We Used:

Edible Blue Pearls – these candy pearls are not the exact ones we used. We went to Michael’s and found the best match to the candy melts that we could.

Edible Pink Flowers –

White Jimmies –

Sprinkles I Wish We Had Used:

Turquoise Dreams Mix – I love the different shapes in this blue candy set.

Unicorn Mix – This mix from Sweet Tooth Fairy even includes little gold Unicorn horns!

Happy Unicorn Sprinklefetti – I love the adorable Unicorn heads in this bright mixture.

Must Have Resources:

Just like above, it really doesn’t take much to make this white chocolate candy. In addition to the supplies I listed in the printable recipe card below, you really need to have the following Amazon affiliate tools on hand.

Parchment Paper – if a recipe says to line a baking sheet with parchment paper, just do it. Trust me! I spent nearly 20 years avoiding buying that which I deem frivolous.  I lucked into some at some point and was surprised at how much easier it made my baking!

Air Tight Candy Jar

Rubber mallet to break the bark into pieces.  Or a covered pan that you can drop on the floor.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I melt candy melts without a double boiler?

Yes! IN fact, we don’t use one at all.  You can either melt it in the microwave in microwave safe bowls or in the Wilton candy melt maker (linked below).  If use the microwave, just don’t do it on high and check it every 15 seconds or so to be sure you don’t burn the candy.

Can I use food coloring?

Honestly, I wouldn’t use it. Even though you are just putting a dab or two for candy coloring, you are thinning the chocolate and it could be harder to set or not set at all.  If you use colored candy melts, you won’t need any food coloring anyway.
