I am crying as I write this post! I applied to be a #Cinchspiration Blogger some time back, but was not one of the 50 bloggers chosen to participate in this life changing event. I decided when I went through the entire list and didn’t find my name anywhere that I was going to lose the weight anyway and do it better than any of the bloggers chosen. HA! So, I started cutting calories and doing at least 1 mile of exercise every single day for the past week and a half and lost 4.4 pounds! However, today I was frustrated because I had a massive head ache and wanted chocolate and Coke. I got just the kick in the pants I needed when I sat down at my computer with a bowl of cheese puffs and saw this email:
I would love to invite you to join Team #Cinchspiration if you are still interested. A member left due to medical reasons. I would love to have you.

I am so sorry for the blogger who had to leave, but I am so stinking happy for myself! In addition to a 6 month supply of the products I need to help me in this journey, there will be prizes for the bloggers along the way like a $10,000 spokesperson gig, $2500 Macy’s gift card and personal shopper, an all expense paid trip to a social media conference, monthly incentives and more. I want the Spokesperson gig! I want it really bad. I don’t know how they will choose which person gets it, but you can bet it gave me so much more incentive to get my behind up and off this computer. No doubt!
This is the size I was when my husband fell in love with me! I was 127 pounds of solid muscle! I was training for the Miss Fitness America Contest and wore a size 2 – 4 depending on the clothing.
I cheered through High School and then joined the Military! In the middle of all that I had a personal trainer and was training for the contest. At the time of this picture, I was an 18 year old female with 7% body fat! You can’t see it in the picture, but that girl over there to the right has 6-pack abs and gluts so tight you could bounce a quarter on them. That girl over there could do 46 push ups in 1 minute and run a couple miles like it was no big deal! I want her back… or at least someone with her confidence! That girl knew she had a rockin’ body! She better… she busted behind to get it and keep it!
Fast forward almost 15 years and that girl is gone. She fell into a vat of Chocolate and Coke and ate her way out.
Seriously, I was doing ok until February 2012 – at that point, my years of slovenly laziness, my no holds barred total hysterectomy, my choice to quit smoking after having the horrid habit for almost 20 years (yeah, don’t do the math it will really shock you!), and my ever increasing time at the computer led to a 20 pound weight gain in 4 months! No, I am not kidding! When I got on my scale the other day and saw that I was in the middle of the overweight category, I about died right there on that stupid Wii board!
My size 10s are now too small for me… I can’t walk a mile without getting breathless and getting cramps…. and probably couldn’t bench even 50 pounds if my life depended on it! My thighs rub together when I walk and trust me that is not a comfortable sensation! If I lie on my side I get this horrible pinching when my fat roll from my hips connects to the fat roll on my sides!
Note: these stats are AFTER my 4.4 pound weight loss mentioned above!
My Starting Stats:
- Age: 32
- Height: 5 feet 7 inches
- Weight: 164.3 pounds
- Body Mass Index (BMI): 26.5
- Dress Size: 12 to 14 depending on the cut!
- Chest: 49 inches (under arms!)
- Upper Arm: 12 inches relaxed and 12.5 inches flexed
- Waist: 38 inches (at belly button… probably bigger lower)
- Hips: 45 inches
- Thigh: 27 inches
Dear Old Me,
Those stats should be enough to make you vomit! I am so sorry… I am determined however to fix it within the next 6 months! With Cinch inch loss plan, I hope to destroy 39 pounds and get down to a size 4 – 6! Yeah, yeah! I realize that my one single thigh NOW is bigger than my entire waist was back then… I am working on that!
I have had three kids since that first picture… I am not looking for a miracle here. I realize I will never be her again, but I can be better!
- She smoked! I do not!
- She had no desire to have kids. I have 3 gorgeous children!
- She was dating a punk baseball player. I married his Coach!
- She was a bit snobby. I am so over that teenaged drama!
- She was mean to her Momma. My Mother is my very best friend!
I have pictures of my body right this second, but I am having a hard time hitting send with them on here. Soon, I will get up the courage to post my before pictures, but not yet. Please stick around to watch me tackle the pounds and become a better, sexier me just in time for the holidays! Also, be sure to leave me tons and tons of comments a I am going to need all the support I can get. Losing weight and toning a body is not easy!
