However, L. Joe Bean, the Wiseman of Beandom, discovers the plot. Will he be able to save his Queen? What will happen to Mean ol’ Bean?
I love the Lima Bear series of books. A while back we received How Back-Back Got His Name and I absolutely loved that book (and my kids too 😉 ), so when this book arrived I was just as excited to read it as my kids were. These books are so educational and fun. There is a lesson in every story and the “extras” provided in the back of the book for extended learning and activities are so helpful to kids, for reading comprehension and learning the lesson in the book. I love the answers I get from my kids. A sample question you could ask your child after reading the book is: Tell me what the story is mostly about. I get varied answers for this question depending on which child is answering and it’s great to hear the different things that each one picks up on in the story.
This was a real tongue twister too! I had a hard time keeping the names straight. The little Mean ol’ Bean rhyme is cute and I love how it get repeated through out the book.
Oh Mean ol’ Bean
How he did scheme.
To be rid of the Queen.
That was his dream.
The take-away message: Have room for forgiveness in your heart. Such a great series of books! I wish we had the whole Lima Bear series 🙂
The Labyrinth will be available for purchase in August 2012.
