There’s something written into every little boy’s brain that drives them want to make a mess. There’s an equally strong drive in mothers of little boys not to have to clean up stains from those messes. JT SplatMaster gives a family a great way to enjoy lots of extremely fun, messy, colorful fun without the headache of scrubbing that you would expect to follow.
Weapon of Choice: The z200
Meet my little friend, the JT Splatmaster z200. This shotgun-shaped toy fires rounds of colored ammo using a pump action system. There’s no batteries or dangerous CO2 bottles needed which makes this much easier to use for younger ages than a paintball gun. Children (9 and up) can use the z200 to shoot at their favorite sets of targets, or with friends, …or at Mom.
Oh, but Mom can use one to shoot back! The ammo is made of a soft gelatin material that breaks apart on the target of choice softly. You can see a 10 year old’s reaction to being shot on their Does It Hurt video. He doesn’t even flinch, even when taking a hit from a much shorter range than what’s suggested. The z200 fires at a slow enough rate that you can see the ammo as it travels (before the satisfying part). It’s about half the speed of a standard painball gun.
The ammo for the JT SplatMaster products is awesome. It’s 100% biodegradable, non toxic, resists stains, and easily washes away with water. This means when you’re done, all it takes is a quick rinse with the hose to wipe down your targets and you don’t have to worry about what you’re letting sink into your soil. No harsh chemicals on your grass or your kids.
The ammo comes in different canisters and shapes, but my favorite is the pineapple grenade. It has 50 extra rounds (The z200 carries 15 at a time) and when you’re done with it, it’d make a great container for sand art or other jar crafts.
Safety comes first, especially when our children are concerned. Even with low-velocity rounds of gelatin ammo, it’s still important to protect your eyes.
JT SplatMaster offers a one-size-fits-most solution with their Optix Goggles. These are snug and comfortable even on younger players and have an adjustable strap to customize them to just the right size. The lenses have been made to be crystal clear and fog-resistant. That feature comes in handy especially in young children who would be likely to remove their goggles to wipe away the fog mid-game and risk injury.
To keep your playtime as safe as possible, JT SplatMaster has a series of videos you can sit down and watch with your kids about safety along with a certificate that you can print out at the end.
This is overall a great, safer alternative for boys (and girls) who want to experience the messy, splat-laden fun of paintball without the risk of pain or stain cleanup afterward.
