Potluck Recipe: Twinkie Tiramisu

Sharing is caring!

tiramisu 001Looking for an easy, no bake dessert to take to a potluck function?  This Twinkie Tiramisu dessert looks like you spent a lot of time on it (which you didn’t) and tastes so divine that it will be the hit of the party!  There are a few versions of this Twinkie Tiramisu on the internet with a few people claiming to be the inventors.  I combined 2 separate recipes and still made my own modifications when I made it just to be faster, easier, and cheaper.  Don’t worry about heating up your oven, you won’t need it.  You are going to need are 2 mixing bowls, your electric mixer, and an 8×8 pan, along with the ingredients below.

Ingredients:

10 Twinkies (cut in half long ways)
1 can of Starbucks Double Shot Espresso Drink
1/4 cup of sugar
8 oz. whipped cream cheese
1 1/2 cup of heavy cream
1 tsp. vanilla
Baking cocoa for dusting

In an 8 x 8 pan, place half of the Twinkies halves all along the bottom. Pour half of the can of Starbucks Double Shot Espresso Drink over all Twinkies. In a bowl, combine sugar, vanilla, and cream cheese. Beat with electric mixer until smooth and mixed completely.

In a separate bowl, beat heavy whipping cream until soft peaks are formed. Fold whipped cream into cream cheese mixture. Spread half over the Twinkies in the pan. Dust with cocoa. Put remaining Twinkies halves on top of this, pour the rest of the Starbucks Double Shot Espresso Drink over all of the Twinkies. Spread the rest of the cream cheese mixture over Twinkies. Dust with cocoa. Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.  Before you leave the house, print up a couple copies of this recipe.  Trust me, you WILL be asked for it!

I have a question for you if you don't mind. Our family doesn't drink coffee or much caffeine and was wondering if you had any idea how this would taste if I substituted some kind of chocolate with the Starbucks coffee drink.

Other than that this looks really yummy and can't wait to try it.
